& CELEBRATION ORGANISER

I am a retired police officer, having retired with an extensive knowledge of safeguarding adults. Based in Stubbington, Hampshire, I have recent experience working as an activities coordinator in a small dementia friendly residential care home.

ALL ABOUT ME

My name is Mandy Louise Tait, I live with my husband Tony  and two dogs Trixie and Shadow. I am a retired police officer, having retired with an extensive knowledge of safeguarding adults. I have recent experience working as an activities coordinator in a small dementia friendly residential care home. As well as organising daily activities, I created themed activities celebrating traditional culture. The residents enjoyed celebrating with music, dance, associated activities and cuisine.

I hold a current and valid DBS Check, and have public liability insurance

MY SERVICES

I will carry out a full risk assessment within the home or community space, prior to organising a tailor-made event, in order to meet the individual needs of your service users , and to ensure their safety at all times.

Below are themed events that are currently available:

A DAY OF FRENCH FUN

A colourful fun filled event, with activities. Including an activity that will aid coordination skills, motor skills and provide light exercise, including:

A DAY OF MEXICAN FUN

A colourful fun filled event, with Mexican activities, that will aid coordination, improve motor skills, and provide light exercise, including:

1. Pinata 2. Musical Instruments 3. Banners 4. Flags 5. Sombreros 6. Ponchos

AUSTRALIA DAY

A fun filled event, celebrating Australia’s national day. Including activities that promote movement, and light exercise, including:

1. Indoor cricket 2. Flags 3. Bunting 4. Music 5. Musical Instruments

BEACH DAY

A Colourful fun filled event, with activities, that will aid cognitive function, mobility, coordination and motor skills and provide light exercise, including:

1. Punch and Judy Puppets 2. Tin can alley 3. Magnetic ducks 4. Let’s go fishing 5. Lets build a pirate ship 6. Fun with beach balls

CHINESE NEW YEAR

A vibrant event to celebrate the Chinese New Year, (The year of the earth snake). An event that will promote wellbeing (Feel good factor), including games to aid cognitive function:

1. Chinese décor 2. Traditional music 3. Disco Lights and glow sticks 4. Games 5. Shadow puppetry

D-DAY

An event commemorating the Normandy landings, a time for recollection and reflection.

1. Bunting and flags 2. Memorabilia 3. Music 4. Traditional confectionery 5. Pre-recorded memories of service men and women

DIWALI
(including optional cuisine)

Symbolises the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. A vibrant and colourful fun filled event, to celebrate the festival of light, with traditional activities. Including:

1. Lanterns 2. Disco Lights and glow sticks 3. Table decorations including sweets 4. Musical instruments 5. Rose Petals, garlands and flowers 6. Dance

KINGS OFFICIAL BIRTHDAY

A celebration of the monarch’s birthday. An event to encourage interaction and coordination through play, and improve motor skills:

1. Bunting and flags 2. Flowers 3. Music 4. Monarchy quiz 5. Table top football 6. Crowns

NATIONAL GARDEN DAY

An activities event to celebrate National Garden Day. A hands on event to promote active participation and creativity. Including:

1. Flower arranging 2. Creating an Indoor garden

ST. ANDREWS DAY
(including optional cuisine)

A fun filled event, celebrating Scotlands patron saint. Including activities that provide light exercise, and aid cognitive function:

1. Tossing the beanbag 2. Flags 3. Banners 4. Dancing 5. Music and singing 6. Quiz (Optional) 7. Walking stick shinty

ST. GEORGES DAY
(including optional cuisine)

A traditional event to celebrate St George (The patron saint of England). A fun event that will provide light exercise and encourage interaction and coordination:

1. Quiz 2. Table top football 3. Indoor Cricket 4. Bunting and flags 5. Traditional symbol Red Roses 6. Punch and Judy

ST. PATRICKS DAY
(including optional cuisine)

A traditional event to celebrate St Patricks day, (The patron saint of Ireland). An event to encourage social interaction:

1. Traditional music 2. Musical Instruments (whistles) 3. Horse Racing (Interactive DVD Game) 4. Flags and bunting (Shamrocks)

I also offer beach days, and international days throughout the year

I strive, to be unique and to provide a memorable and enjoyable tailor-made event for everyone who attends.
